One of the largest islands of Thailand is Phuket. This island is situated in southern Thailand, on the Andaman Sea. If you are a traveler or if you want to enjoy your holidays, then this is the place for you.

Island is surrounded by glorious beaches like Patong, Rawai, Kata beach, and more.  The best time to visit Phuket is between November – March. During this period most of the days are sunny, so you will spend a lot of time on the beach.

The official currency of Thailand is Bhat so, you should exchange your money for Thai Bhat. While the current value of 1 USD= 32.90 THB. Mostly Phuket’s people speak Thai but you will find some people who also speak English. One of the famous festivals of Phuket is the Vegetarian festival which is held on 5-15 Oct. During these days people of Phuket do not eat any non-veg food including dairy products also.


There are many ways to reach Phuket from Bangkok such as bus, train, and flight also. The first way is the bus if you choose the bus then you will take a bus from the southern bus terminal of Bangkok to Phuket, it will take up to 13 hours. You have two choices air-conditioned bus and a non-air-conditioned bus, you can take what you like.

The second way is train if you choose train then, take a train from Hua Lamphong station to Surat Thani. From there you can take a direct bus from Surat Thani station to Phuket. 

The third way is a flight which is a little bit expensive than a bus and train. If you choose a flight then you will take a direct flight from Bangkok’s international airport Suvarnabhumi to Phuket. Hiring a bike in Phuket


One of the best ways to see and tour the island is by renting a bike. You can say this is the cheapest method as well. Bike rental costs around USD 10/- per day. If you want bike rental for more days then it will be much cheaper. Up to some extent it depends upon your bargaining skill as well. Here is the catch point comes. That is you have to submit your passport.

Because in the past many incidents had happened where bikes were found outside a hotel in deserted condition as travelers travel to the airport early in the morning to catch the flight.

Something worth noting here is that you must carry an international driving license with you else police will catch you and impose a heavy fines on you. This is all looks like a setup only.

An alternate way to an international driving license is a document that is issued by a local police station. To get a day pass you must take permission from the local police station so that you can drive stress free full day.


Patong Beach  


Patong beach is the most crowded beach in Thailand. Situated at a distance of 15km from Phuket. The beach is crowded throughout the year. The crystal clear water and lush green forests of the beach make it more beautiful.

If you are a Shopaholic or loves shopping then, this beach is the best place for shopping. Here you can find small food stalls, shopping stalls and much more. Beauty and shopping stalls make the beach more crowded.

During the daytime, you can find many water adventure activities like Scuba diving, parasailing, swimming, and other water sports on this beach. During night time the beach is more colorful with bars, restaurants, pubs, nightclubs which attract most of the people. Due to overcrowded, it is a little bit unsafe you may find some pickpockets, drunk people, and some fraud people.

Kata Noi Beach:

The second beautiful beach of Phuket is quite larger than Patong beach. This beach is less crowded compared to Patong beach. The distance between Kata Noi beach and Patong beach is about 11 Km.  Kata North and Kata south are the two primary divisions of this beach

Beach is attractive with its crystal clear water, clear sands, and pine trees lining up the shore.  It is a beautiful site to spend your time on. Throughout the year people visit this beach. People who want to enjoy the sunny days they visit in between November-April and those who want surfing visit in between May-October.

You will find some massage parlours and delicious cuisine on this beach. Some of the famous restaurants on this beach are Red Onion, Ging and Karon seafood, and more. Big Buddha:-

Phuket is famous for its big white Buddha statue. Which is around 45 meters tall. Big Buddha is quite a big attraction in Phuket, so it will be crowded every day.

From Phuket Town and Karon Beach, it is visible. The statue is situated on the top of Nakkerd Hills between Kata and Chalong. Big Buddha is also known as Phra Phutta Ming Mongkol Eknakiri in short ( Ming Mongkol). The statue is made of reinforced concrete with a coating of Burmese white jade marble. From the statue, you find a 360 view of the island.

If you visit in good time you will watch the beautiful sunset. In the background, a gentle tinkling of bells is heard, and hundreds of yellow Buddhist flags flutter in the wind, creating an enchanting scene.  The best time to visit Big Buddha is in the winter season.

Phuket’s Weekend Night Market:-


Phuket’s weekend night market is popular for products at cheap prices and delicious Thai foods. Many items are for sale including souvenirs, quirky accessories, clothes, and more are available at very reasonable prices for tourists to purchase here. 

You can only hang out here on weekend days. The opening time of the market is 4:00 Pm and closing time is 11:00 Pm within this time you can enjoy here. Its clearly visible from road itself so no need to search it.

Phuket Fantasea :-

Phuket Fantasea is situated on Kamla beach of Phuket island serving an area of 60 acres. The Fantasea park was opened on 20 December 1998 by Phuket Fantasea public company limited. The park provides 3000 theatre seats and 4000 dining seat facilities to visitors. Fantasea restaurants servers both Thai and International Cuisine. It is the best nighttime entertainment in Phuket city.

The Fantasea presents the incredible beauty of Thailand with impressive special effects and ultramodern technology. The show ranges from acrobatics to aerial performances, magic to pyrotechnics, and animal performances. The famous show is “fantasy of kingdom” which is performed at the palace of elephants. The show starts at 9:00 Pm and runs for approximately 70 minutes. The theatre gates open before 20 minutes of the show. After the show, you will find dining options with delicious Thai and international cuisines.

Ticket pricing-

The ticket for adults and children (more than 4 years) is about 1800 TBH and children below 4 years have free. If you want a front seat then the price increase to 2100 TBH.

 If you need a show with dinner then the price of tickets would be 2200 TBH for adults and 2100 TBH for children (between 4 to 12 years).

The Fantasea opens every day excluding Thursday.

Wat Chalong:-

A large number of Buddhist temples are present in Phuket but Wat Chalong is one of the biggest sacred temples. Situated at a distance of 8 Km from south Phuket. The temple is known for its traditional building style. The lots of Lotus pond adorn the place.

This temple is one of the most beautiful and revered in Phuket. This place is free for all visitors, Opens daily from 7:00 Am to 5:00 pm. The Winter season is the best time to visit this beautiful Temple.

Promthep cape:-

Promthep cape also known as ‘Laem promthep’, lies on the southernmost tip of Phuket. This place is well-known for its photographic Location.

Promthep Cape offers stunning views of the southeast and east of this island. Another place for tourists to visit in this cape is an air-conditioned lighthouse also a museum.

Lighthouse Museum offers beautiful sightseeing views of the southeast and east of the island from its balcony. On most of the day’s Phi Phi islands, Yai noi is visible from there. A lot of handicraft stores are present in this place.

Promthep Cape is a beautiful destination, where you will enjoy a sunrise, sunset, or see the stars at night. . Here you can take some beautiful pictures and enjoy some tasty foods at food stalls.

Trick-eye Museum:-

Trickeye Museum was the first museum in Phuket. In the corner of  Phang Nga and Montri road, it is situated. It is 500m far from Phuket city.

The building has two floors which are covered with around 100 sculpted and painted scenes along with 3D painting and installation. The whole building was designed by a famous Korean artist who had previously worked on 3D museums in other parts of Asia. This Museum was transformed into a virtual world of wall paintings in only three months. However, the museum does not have air conditioning, despite being well maintained.

You can find food items at the entrance of the museum. The museum doesn’t allow heavy luggage. They are allowed inside only after there is a security check. From 10:00 Am to 7:00 Pm the museum opens.

Better you can come here in between 10 Am to 5 Pm. The museum is not free for visitors so, you have to buy tickets here. The ticket price for an adult is 500 TBH and the tickets for children are 250 TBH.

The Splash Jungle Water Park, Phuket:-

This adventurous water park is situated at Mai Khao beach which is 35 km far from Phuket city. While it is nearer to Phuket airport it is just a 15 min ride.

Fun, exciting water rides and giant slides make it an ideal place for thrill-seekers and adventure lovers. The water park offers Whizzard, family raft slide, super bowl, slides, boomerang, lazy river, wave pool, and kids pool also. You can enjoy yourself here with your family and friends.

There is no better place to relax than a water park so it is crowded every time. You can find restaurants, bars, and cafes inside the water park. Food and drinks and plastic containers are not permitted in the pool.

You need a swimsuit while entering the pool, wearing a normal dress is not allowed in the pool. You should take maximum safety while riding adventure rides.

Ticket pricing:-

The ticket price for adults is 1450 TBH and tickets for children (above 5 years) is 700 TBH. While the entry fee is free for the child having age less than 5 years. Tickets are valid for only one day. You can buy tickets here offline at the water park or online on the website.
